My artistic practice centres on geology and its relationship to human notions of time, permanence and solidity. I am also interested in how terrain and the ground underfoot influences personal connection to landscape.
The creation of the rare edition, hand set book Twelve Poems comprises poems by Les Murray and twelve of my etchings. It grew out of my idea to place literature and art works about Australian landscape together in an exhibition project titled Ancient Earth, Fresh Ground. Viewers will have the opportunity, in a gallery space, to experience a generative relationship between poetry, imagery and form, and a diverse fabric of engagements with the concept of terrain.
